Kaizen Finance

FAQ

Short answers.

The longer versions live in the Privacy Policy and on the data deletion page.

Where is my data stored?

On the phone. Accounts, transactions, budgets, goals, notes, settings, and receipt photos sit in a local database. Kaizen Finance does not run an account server, and it does not receive a copy of your ledger.

Do I need an account?

No. You can use the app without signing in. A Google account is used only if you connect Google Drive for backup, or if you buy Lifetime Pro or restore that purchase through Google Play.

Does the app work offline?

Yes. Recording, editing, and reading your books do not need a network. Drive backup, a new Pro purchase, and restoring a purchase need a connection when you use them.

Are there ads or analytics?

No. This version does not show ads and does not include an analytics SDK. Lifetime Pro is not a payment to remove advertising.

What does Pro include?

Reports: cash flow trends, balance sheet comparisons, net worth growth, and expense breakdowns. It is a one-time Google Play purchase tied to your Google account. The ledger, budgets, goals, backups, and app lock are not behind that purchase.

What if I forget the app password?

There is no email reset. The password stays on the device. If biometric unlock is set up, you can verify with fingerprint or face and choose a new password. Otherwise use Forgot password, then Emergency Reset App Data, and type KAIZEN. That erases the local books and removes the lock.

What does Reset Data delete?

Settings, then Danger zone, then Reset Data, then type KAIZEN. That deletes accounts, transactions, budgets, goals, notes, settings, attachments, and app-managed local backups on that phone. It disconnects Google Drive and clears Quick Sync. Files already in Google Drive stay until you delete them in Drive.

Which languages does the app speak?

English, Filipino, and Spanish. This website is English only.

Is this a bank?

No. Kaizen Finance does not hold deposits, move money, lend, or give regulated financial advice. It is a private record of money you already have and money you already spent.

Can a child use it?

The app is not made for children under 13. Do not use it to keep a child’s personal financial record.
