Privacy Policy
Your books stay on your phone.
This policy describes Kaizen Finance for Android, package com.kaizen.finance.app, and this website. It matches how the app works today: no ads, no analytics, and no Kaizen account server.

Who operates the app
Kaizen Finance is operated by John Paul Arellano, from the Philippines.
John Paul ArellanoBrgy. ArbismenGuinayangan, Quezon 4319Philippinesjohnpaulcarellano.dev@gmail.comWhat the app is
Kaizen Finance is a personal finance record. You enter accounts, transactions, budgets, goals, notes, and optional receipt photos. The app does not hold your money, move money, lend, or provide regulated financial advice.
This website publishes product information, a guide, and these policies. It does not create accounts and it does not receive your ledger.
Information that stays on the device
Unless you choose a backup, the app keeps these on the phone:
- Accounts, categories, transactions, splits, installments, labels, schedules, budgets, goals, notes, and settings, including language, currency, and appearance.
- Receipt and document images you attach to a transaction.
- The app password, stored in the device secure storage. Fingerprint and face data stay with the phone’s own biometric system. The app does not receive a copy of your fingerprint or face.
- A local record that Lifetime Pro is unlocked, if you have bought it, including the product id and the time it was unlocked.
- Reminder notifications scheduled on the device.
The operator does not have a server copy of this information. Losing the phone, uninstalling, or using Reset Data can remove it. Keep a backup if you want a copy.
Google Drive backup
Drive backup is optional. If you connect it, the app signs in with Google and requests access only to app data and to files the app creates (drive.appdata and drive.file). The backup file is stored in your Google account, not in an account run by Kaizen Finance.
Google’s own privacy policy covers that storage. Disconnecting the app, or resetting data, stops future backups and clears Quick Sync. It does not delete files already saved in Drive. A sample workspace is not uploaded.
While Drive is connected, the app can show the Google account used for that connection. That detail stays on the device.
Google Play purchases
Lifetime Pro is a one-time in-app purchase sold by Google Play, product id lifetime. Google processes the payment. The app does not receive your card number, your full payment account, or a copy of Google’s order.
Restore Purchases asks Google Play whether this Google account already bought Pro. The result is saved on the device so the reports still open offline.
Camera, photos, and notifications
The camera and photo library are used only when you attach a receipt or document to a transaction. The microphone is not used.
Notifications are reminders you configure, such as a daily prompt to log spending or a bill that is due. They are scheduled on the device.
What this version does not do
- It does not show ads.
- It does not include an analytics or crash-reporting SDK.
- It does not sell personal information.
- It does not ask you to create a Kaizen account.
- It does not send your ledger to the operator. The only off-device copies are the ones you put in your own Google Drive, and the purchase record Google Play keeps.
Children
Kaizen Finance is not directed at children under 13, and it should not be used to store a child’s personal financial information. If you believe a child has entered personal data, erase it from the device with Reset Data or by uninstalling. See how to delete data.
How long information is kept
On-device data remains until you delete it, reset the app, or uninstall. Drive backups remain until you delete them in Google Drive. Google keeps Play purchase records under Google’s own retention rules. The operator does not keep a separate copy, so there is no operator retention period for your ledger.
Your choices
You can decline Drive, skip Pro, deny the camera, and turn reminders off. You can erase local data inside the app. The steps are on the data deletion page. You can email johnpaulcarellano.dev@gmail.com with a privacy question. Because the operator does not hold your ledger, the practical way to access, correct, or delete those records is on the device, or in your Google account for Drive files and Play purchases.
Security
The app can lock behind a password and the device biometric prompt. That reduces access if someone else opens your phone, and it is not a guarantee against loss, theft, or a broken device. Export a local backup or use Drive if the records matter.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new text and date will be posted on this page. The app’s store listing will keep pointing at this address.
