Guide
From install to a locked phone.
Follow the same order the app uses. You can skip a step and come back to it in Settings.
01
Install it on Android
Kaizen Finance is coming to Google Play as com.kaizen.finance.app. Until that listing is public, the button on this site is a preview, not a download.
02
Choose a language
The first screen offers English, Filipino, and Spanish. Change it later in Settings, under Language.
03
Choose your currency
This becomes the currency for combined totals and for new accounts. If yours is missing, add it later in Settings, under Currency Setup. Existing accounts keep the currency they were given.
04
Name the first account
Pick cash, bank, e-wallet, or savings, give it a name, and enter what is in it now if you want an opening balance. You can also start from scratch, use the recommended setup, or look around a sample workspace first.
05
Record the first expense
On Home, tap +. Amount, account, category, and date are always there. A transfer between two of your accounts is a transfer, not income and not spending.
06
Turn on the fields you actually use
The form can also carry a transaction name, a note, labels, a receipt photo, a split, installments, quick presets, and the exact time. Leave off the ones you do not want to see.
07
Plan the month
Budgets hold a category to a limit. Goals track money you are setting aside. The calendar shows the month. Credit cards cover purchases you are paying over time. Notes hold the context a number cannot.
08
Schedule what repeats
Open Scheduled Transactions for rent, salary, or any transfer that happens again. Choose whether each occurrence posts on its own or waits for you. Due or failed items show up for attention. Editing a schedule updates occurrences that have not posted yet.
09
Keep a copy
In Settings, under Backup & sync, Local Backup stays on the phone. Google Drive keeps a copy in your own Drive after you connect. Quick Sync backs up changes when you enable it. Sample records are not uploaded. Start a personal workspace before you rely on Drive.
10
Lock the app
In Settings, under Security & privacy, open Password & Fingerprint. Set a password first. Biometric unlock is available after that, on a phone that has it enrolled. Leaving the app locks it.
11
Put it on the home screen
Android widgets can open a new expense, income, or transfer, or show monthly cash flow, net worth, and budget progress without opening the full app.
12
Unlock reports if you want them
Reports are the Lifetime Pro purchase: cash flow, balance sheet, net worth growth, and expense breakdowns. Open Reports, or the Pro card in the menu. Payment goes through Google Play. Restore Purchases is on that same screen. The rest of the app does not require Pro.
